Episode 103: Justin Art House Museum
Jan Henderson explores the latest house museum, the Justin Art House Museum (JAHM), in Melbourne’s Prahran.
In this week’s episode, Jan talks with Charles Justin (founder of SJB Architects) and his daughter, architect Elisa Justin of Justin Architecture. We learn the rationale behind the venture, the design brief and the intricacies of designing both a home and public space for an architect client. As well, we see a good number of interesting modern art works and commissioned installations on site. Inspired by the Lyon House Museum, it seems Melbourne is becoming a focus for architects with significant private art collections.
The public are welcome to visit the JAHM by pre-booking, which can be arranged by calling Charles Justin, 0411 158 967 or by visiting their website here, www.jahm.com.au
