Episode 149 : Punchbowl Mosque
This week on ArchiTel, we bring you the Punchbowl Mosque by Candalepas Associates. We speak with project architect Angelo Candalepas about this incredible project.
Punchbowl is a densely populated suburb in the southwest of Sydney, which is known locally for its cultural diversity, with migrant communities from many countries, including those within the Islamic faith. The Mosque provides a new hub for the area’s Muslim community.
The Punhcbowl Mosque and Candalepas Associates achievements have been recognised several times, most notably being awarded the Australian Institute of Architects 2018 Sulman Medal for Public Buildings.
